Mounts and Pets
The Mounts and Pets page is where you manage your tamed creatures in the Inner World.
This menu is divided into three main parts:
- Permissions
- Mounts
- Pets
Permissions
In Permissions, you can allow other specific characters to interact with your mounts and pets.
When adding a permission, you can choose exactly what another player can do:
- Interact with the creature
- Mount
- Control/drive
- Open the inventory, if the creature has a bag equipped
The owner always has full access to their own creature.
Permissions are useful for playing in a group, sharing a mount with someone you trust, or allowing another player to access a pet/mount's inventory without needing to be the owner.
Mounts
In Mounts, you will see all the mounts your character has tamed.
Each mount can appear with a status:
[A]: Active mount
[X]: Inactive mount
The active mount is the one that will be used by the summon mount spell, which also needs to be active in the Enchantments and Spells > Spells area.
You can only have one active mount at a time.
If the active mount is already summoned in the world, you cannot activate another until you store or remove the current one.
Some mounts require a saddle or riding equipment to be controlled. If the mount allows it, you can also equip accessories, armor, or an inventory pouch.
Pets
In Pets, you will see all the pets your character has tamed.
Like mounts, each pet can be:
[A]: active pet
[X]: inactive pet
The active pet is the one used by the summon pet spell.
You can only have one active pet at a time.
If the active pet is already summoned in the world, you cannot activate another until you store or remove the current one.
Pets can accompany their owner, react to combat situations depending on the creature's behavior, and, in some cases, carry inventory if they have a pouch equipped.
Summon and Store
After taming your first mount or pet, the character will automatically learn the corresponding spell to:
- Summon Pet
- Summon Mount
These spells create an item in the inventory when activated from the Spells menu.
When using this item:
- If the creature is not in the world, it will be summoned near the character.
- If the creature is already in the world and nearby, it will be stored.
- If the creature is too far away, you may need to get closer to store it.
If the creature has died, it will receive a cooldown where it blocks it before being summoned again.
Taming Creatures
Some wild creatures can be tamed using specific items.
The taming attempt may fail, depending on the chance of the item used.
In some cases, the taming item may also break upon failure.
Upon successful taming:
- The creature becomes the character's property.
- It is saved in the pet or mount list.
- The character learns the necessary spell to summon it.
- The wild creature disappears from the world and becomes managed by the pet/mount system.
There is a limit to the number of creatures tamed per character.
Bags, Accessories, and Equipment
Some pets and mounts can receive special items, such as:
- Inventory bags
- Visual accessories
- Armor
- Mount equipment
When an item is equipped to a creature, it becomes bound to that creature.
That same item cannot be equipped to another creature while it is in use.
To remove an inventory bag, it must be empty.
Anchoring a Creature
Some creatures can be anchored using an anchor rope.
When a creature is anchored, it is bound to the world and ceases to function as an active creature for summoning.
An anchored creature cannot be mounted, controlled, or have its inventory opened by other players.
To un-anchor a creature, there must be no other active pet or mount of the same type as it will become active.
Releasing a Creature
It is also possible to release a mount or pet from your list.
When a creature is released, it no longer belongs to the character.
Note: creatures that are summoned in the world cannot be released while they are in use. They must be stored away first.
Combat Behavior
Pets and mounts have different behaviors.
Mounts generally enter a flight or panic behavior when they take damage.
Pets may react differently depending on the type of creature. Some may try to protect their owner or fight back against the attacker.
Tamed creatures follow server combat rules, so they should not attack their owner, creatures belonging to the same owner, players protected by PvP rules, or invalid targets.
